Plaster gauze for building small models
Zart Artroc Plaster Bandages 10cm x 4.5m, supplier code ML400, is a roll of ArtRoc (Modroc) plaster impregnated gauze from The Creative School Supply Company, suited to small models.
The Creative School Supply Company describes ArtRoc as a construction material that can be used on its own or combined with armature wire, box construction, moulds, chicken wire or rolled up newspaper. The supplier says it dries hard, dries quickly and is easy to manipulate and form. It also notes that holes and staples need to be made during construction.
To use it, the supplier says to cut the cloth into smaller strips with Modroc shears, dip the strips into water, gently squeeze out the excess and layer them over the model. Once dry, the construction can be painted, drawn on or glossed, and embellishments may be glued on.
Zart armature wire makes a ready skeleton for ArtRoc models. Read the care instructions before the first session, then browse papier mache supplies, modelling clay, educational craft supplies and the Zart range.
