Clear Perspex bases for printmaking and mosaic craft
The Zart Acrylic Base Square 10 x 10cm Clear Pack of 5, supplier code PK228, is a pack of clear acrylic squares from The Creative School Supply Company for craft bases and printing plates.
The Creative School Supply Company describes the base as 1.8mm thick clear Perspex sheeting that is strong, durable and lightweight. It suggests using it as a project base for models, decorative crafts and Deco mosaic tiles, as a drawing surface for permanent markers, or as a printing plate. This listing is the square 10 x 10cm option, supplied as a pack of 5.
For dry point etching, the supplier explains that you carve into the base with a sharp pointed etching tool, ink the plate, wipe it back and print through a press onto dampened paper. For a mosaic coaster, tiles press onto double sided tape or straight into Magiclay, which acts as both adhesive and grout.
The supplier also notes that Posca markers and other permanent pens can draw on the base. Find tiles in mosaic tiles, more craft shapes and blanks, educational craft supplies and the full Zart range.
