The Red Round Opening Lid, Usually the General Waste Bin
Compass 7606012 is a black lid with a red ringed round opening, made for the Compass 7606010 60 litre grey bin and most often used to mark the general rubbish bin in a row of separation bins.
Red is the colour many Australian workplaces and councils use for landfill waste, so putting it at the end of a recycling station gives people somewhere obvious for the items that do not belong in the other streams. Weatherdon do not assign a stream to this lid, so follow your own site signage.
A round opening suits mixed rubbish such as wrappers, tissues and food packaging, and is wide enough to drop items in without lifting the lid. The red ring is a removable centre ring, which Weatherdon say makes cleaning easy. Its footprint is 45 x 33 cm, it stands 10.5 cm high and it weighs roughly 650 g, according to Weatherdon.
Fit it to a 7606010 bin on its own, or combine it with the blue, yellow and green lids on castor bases for a mobile station.
