Three kinds of input in one object: weight, temperature and texture. A child holds her and gets steady pressure through the arms and lap; the tummy pack adds warmth or cold; the fur, paw pads, ears and nose give different things to run fingers over.

The hot/cold pack comes out. It goes in the microwave or the freezer. That makes her two resources - a warm one for settling, a cold one for a child who is overheated or upset - rather than one.

The lavender scent is deliberate, and it is worth knowing before you order. Some children find it calming; some find any added scent aversive, and a child with asthma or a fragrance sensitivity may not want her at all. Ask the child before you decide for them.

Two safety points, and one contradiction we are not hiding

An adult heats the pack, always. The supplier says to check the product tag for the specific heating and cooling instructions, and to make sure the hot pack is not overheated before it goes near a child. Microwaves vary. This is not a job to hand to a child or leave to a guess.

Now the contradiction. This product's own description suggests she can be "cuddled before sleep". The supplier's safety wording on the Therapy Pets Kit that contains her says plainly: do not use weighted items for unsupervised sleep. Those two statements do not sit together, and where a supplier contradicts itself on a safety point we take the more cautious one. Treat Chloé as a supervised, waking-hours resource until the supplier tells us otherwise. We have asked.

Ages 3+ and adult supervision, per the supplier. Our own rule for anything weighted: the child must be able to put it down themselves.
