The Brother HL-L8240CDW is a professional compact colour printer with an LED engine in Brother's colour laser class: up to 30 pages a minute in colour and mono, duplex as standard, and NFC secure print release.
Output is 600 x 600 dpi with the 2,400 dpi class quality mode, from a 250 sheet tray plus a 30 sheet multi purpose tray and an optional second tray. Connectivity runs to Gigabit Ethernet, dual band Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, USB and a front USB host port for direct printing, with NFC tap authentication for secure print release. Brother rates it for 1,000 to 4,000 pages a month.
It takes the widest toner range of Brother's compact colour class: TN258 standard, TN258XL high yield, and the TN259 super high yield at 4,500 pages black and 4,000 per colour, all ISO/IEC 19798 rated, on a 20,000 page DR258CL drum. The TN259 option is what separates it from the HL-L3280CDW on running cost.
Price it with the TN259 toner fitted and the cost per colour page drops sharply against the smaller cartridges. The TN258XL and TN258 standard set are stocked here, with the rest of the Brother laser printer range.
