A wooden board, 13.9 x 21.5cm, with a smooth grooved pathway over three mountain peaks and printed directions. Comes with a guide.
"Take a deep breath" is advice a distressed child cannot act on. A groove to follow with a finger is something they can actually do - and the breathing happens because the pace of the finger sets the pace of the breath.
That is why this works when talking does not. It gives a child something physical to do at the exact moment their words have gone, and it teaches the breathing pattern without anyone having to explain it.
Durable wood, printed directions on the board itself, so it works in a calm corner without an adult standing over it.
