A single 42cm lead with a 4mm banana plug at one end and an alligator clip at the other. Sold individually, not in pairs.
This is the lead that bridges the two halves of a school lab. Bench equipment - power supplies, meters, the lamp on a stand - takes 4mm banana plugs. Everything a student improvises with - a nail, a paper clip, a bulb holder, a strip of foil - needs an alligator clip. A lead with one of each on it means you can go from the equipment to the experiment without an adaptor.
42cm is short enough to keep a bench tidy and long enough to reach from a power supply at the back to a circuit at the front.
Black is the negative side by convention, and getting students into that habit early is worth more than it looks - it is the same convention they will meet on every meter and power supply they ever touch.
Note it is sold as a single lead. Most circuits need at least one red and one black, so order in pairs.
