Avery fits these with a spiral spring coil fastener and pressure plate. The coil clamps the stack under the plate and holds it so the papers do not fall out.
Avery describes loading as adding and removing pages from the top of the file. They print that sentence on some codes in this range and not others, but it is the same fastener on all of them, so it is worth knowing before you choose between this and a transfer file.
The cover carries a pre-printed panel in black for writing the contents on. It is a panel on the front, not ruling inside the file.
The board weights run against expectation. Buff files in this range are 326gsm and the coloured files are 270gsm, so the plain-looking one is the heavier board. That holds across the whole range and is not a typo on Avery's part.
