A box of 12 Artline Flow Retractable Pens in blue. ACCO Australia lists each pen with a 1.0mm line width and gel-based ink, housed in a blue barrel that matches the ink.
Blue ink stands apart from printed text, which makes it handy for signing documents, ticking off checklists and marking up drafts. The safety data sheet ACCO publishes for the range describes a single ink colour in an associated coloured housing, so the barrel shows at a glance which ink is inside. The box prints 1.0mm Medium on the front.
ACCO Australia credits the rubber grip with added comfort and calls the ink low-viscosity gel ink, which it says gives smooth writing. Because the tip retracts, a pen can go into a pocket or a pencil case after use without hunting for a cap.
