Damage in transit comes from the contents moving rather than the box being crushed, which is why a well-wrapped item rattling in a large carton still arrives broken. Fill the space. Bubble protects the surface; void fill takes up the volume; the two do different jobs and most dispatch benches need both. Size the carton to the item.
