Desk Mats
These do two jobs at once, which is why they suit glass and high-gloss desks so well: they stop the surface being scratched by everything set down on it, and they give an optical mouse the texture it needs to track properly. Size to the full working width rather than a small pad, and check the edge lies flat rather than curling up at the front. See mouse pads, desk accessories and mice.
