Lateral File Labels
Coded consistently, a correctly filed shelf shows an unbroken colour band and a misfile is visible from several metres away, which is what makes a large filing room workable. That only holds if the coding is written down and everyone applies it, which is the part that fails rather than the labels. Match to your folder tab position. See lateral filing labels, filing labels and suspension files.
