Flashlights

Lumens describe total output, not how far the light reaches, which is why a high-lumen flood torch can be useless for spotting something across a yard. A wide beam lights the area in front of you for close work; a tight beam throws distance. Power source is the second call, since rechargeable units suit regular use while a torch that sits in an emergency kit is better on disposable cells. See batteries and first aid kits.
