Computer Storage Devices
The rule holds across everything here: one copy on one device is a single point of failure, so plan two and keep one elsewhere. Solid state is faster and costs more per terabyte; mechanical drives suit bulk archive on a shelf. Speed is limited by the slower of the drive and the port it plugs into. See external drives, flash drives and optical media.
