A blue under-drawing stands apart from graphite, so sketchers use it to rough out figures and comic panels before inking, and drafters use it to flag notes, revisions and checking marks on a print.

Staedtler describe the Lumochrom lead for drawing and sketching, on drawing card and transparent papers. It has a rounded diameter of about 2 mm, so it drops into any common 2 mm holder. The tray label reads blau/blue, and Staedtler state the leads are made in Germany.

Keeping blue in its own holder saves swapping leads mid-job. A red 204-2 tray is also available for corrections.

You can also browse drawing supplies, pencil leads, mechanical drawing pencils and Staedtler.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0863/5419/8784/files/Staedtler_Mars_Lumochrom_2mm_Leads_Blue_Tray_12_204-3_1_Mega_Office_Supplies.jpg?v=1791399950
