It suits gesture sketches, still life, life drawing warm-ups and first tonal studies, and it is often the one pencil an artist keeps in a pocket notebook.

Staedtler fit every degree from 2B through the H grades with a lead of about 2.0 mm. Their graphite is finely graded, they say, so tone builds smoothly from a light glaze to a firm dark, with the faint metallic sheen you expect from good graphite.

Each pencil has the familiar blue Lumograph barrel with the degree printed on the black end cap. According to Staedtler, every one is made in Germany. Pair it with a Mars plastic 526 50 eraser for corrections and lifting highlights.

Browse sketch pencils, Staedtler graphite pencils, erasers and pencil sharpeners.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0863/5419/8784/files/Staedtler_Mars_Lumograph_Pencils_2B_Box_12_100-2B_1_Mega_Office_Supplies.jpg?v=1791399865
