The colours are red, yellow, orange, green, blue and purple, and EDX recommends them for lightbox play. EDX lists an age range of 18 months to 6 years. A jar of 72 smaller 4cm shells is sold separately under code 13841J.

On a light box, colours glow as light passes through. EDX suggests exploring symmetry, sorting, matching, comparing, patterning and counting. For a feely game, place shells in an opaque bag and ask children to identify each surface by touch. The jar has a lid and carry handle.

Set the shells on a light panel or light box for colour exploration.
