Trim and clip the seams, turn the calico inside out, stuff with 250 grams of Polyester Filling, close up and decorate. The filling is a separate Zart product, supplier code WA053. The supplier gives the bear size as 280mm, and the pack holds 10 bears.

Students work through a full soft toy process without having to cut and sew the body from scratch. The bears give a blank calico surface for a character or design once they are stuffed. Zart's washing advice suits finished bears too: cold water only to avoid shrinkage, and hand wash or a gentle machine cycle.

Each bear is plain calico until it is stuffed and decorated. Other pre-sewn calico shapes include hand puppets and reindeers.
